Super Trofeo Asia locks in The Bend for 2024

THE Bend Motorsport Park has locked in another big event for its 2024 schedule.

While the wait remains as to whether The Bend will appear on next year’s Repco Supercars Championship calendar, the South Australian venue has been confirmed to stay as part of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia.

Super Trofeo made its debut at The Bend this year in June, when Dean Canto/Sam Brabham joined the field for a cameo start alongside regulars such as Carrera Cup Australia leader Jackson Walls (paired with father Tony) and Kiwi duo Marco Giltrap/Chris van der Drift.

It has retained that slot for 2024, specifically June 7-9.

That will mark Round 2 of the Asian series, following a season-opener in Sepang, Malaysia.

Inje (South Korea), Fuji (Japan) and Shanghai (China) have been listed as Rounds 3-5, with the sixth and final event to be announced.

That will again be an all-in affair, seeing the Asian, North American and European editions converge – as they are later this month at Italy’s Vallelunga Circuit.

The Super Trofeo Asia round is at least the second major 2024 race meeting confirmed for The Bend, coming a fortnight after the Shannons SpeedSeries event on May 24-26.

In line with a long-term sponsorship deal, the Tailem Bend precinct is now commercially known as Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.
