Tickford Racing appoints new CEO

TICKFORD Racing has a new leader for its new era, with the Ford Supercars team naming Tim Edwards’ successor as CEO.

Simon Brookhouse has been selected to spearhead the Campbellfield organisation, having made a name for himself in the National Basketball League.

Most notably, Brookhouse oversaw the start-up Tasmania JackJumpers’ surge to the NBL grand final series in its inaugural season (2021/22).

His prior experience includes two years as general manager of golf operations at Golf Australia.

Brookhouse’s appointment follows the engagement of global recruiting firm Odgers Berndtson and completes a changing of the guard at Tickford, which recently bid farewell to Edwards after 19 years and has streamlined to a two-car operation.

“To find a candidate with Simon’s history is a win for our team,” said Tickford managing director Rod Nash.

“He has a strong understanding of professional sport, is proven as an effective leader that can motivate and deliver clear communication, and has established relationships that have helped grow commercial revenue and ultimately a winning culture.

“Simon’s experience as a commercial orientated CEO will lead the team well in all aspects of our racing and business operating culture in order to continue to succeed.”

Brookhouse’s tenure will start on February 19, the week of Round 1 at Mount Panorama.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to join the highly credentialed Tickford Racing team; they’re synonymous with success,” he said.

Tickford becomes the second team in recent times to appoint a CEO from outside the motorsport sphere, Dick Johnson Racing having recruited long-time AFL administrator/coach David Noble ahead of the 2023 season.
