THE beginning of what became Super Touring kicked off in Australia in early 1994 with the Valvoline Australian Manufacturers Championship for two-litre touring cars at Eastern Creek in Sydney.
As many of our readers will remember, this particular round saw a brace of two-litre cars competing very closely, in fact, a little too closely, with the tight pack of racing clearly a sign that the racing was more ‘for show’ than ‘for go’.
But nevertheless, it’s cool to look back on, so enjoy this first race from the opening round of the series in 1994 at Eastern Creek.
