A RAFT of aerodynamic upgrades have been approved for the Gen3 Ford Mustang ahead of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
This month’s Repco Bathurst 1000 represented the fifth trigger race in the past eight, forcing a compulsory parity review.
That review has led to an enhanced aero kit which will be raced at both the Gold Coast and the season-ending Adelaide 500.
“After a comprehensive evaluation conducted by Supercars, and in consultation with the Homologation Teams, it has been determined that adjustments will be implemented to the Ford Mustang Vehicle Specification Document in preparation for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 event,” a Supercars spokesperson confirmed.
“These modifications include alterations to the rear wing, side skirt, and front fascia elements, with the primary aim of reducing drag, and redistributing downforce to the rear of the Mustang.”

It’s the second in-season aero change applied to the Ford, the first coming in the lead-up to Townsville.
The Camaro also had its downforce balance adjusted prior to Round 1 in Newcastle.
It’s hoped that a freshly announced December trip to the Windshear Wind Tunnel in North Carolina will put the aero parity debate to bed once and for all.
