How the 2024 Super2 grid is shaping up

THE 2024 Dunlop Super2 Series field is starting to come together, seven weeks out from the Bathurst season-opener.

A dozen seats are more or less locked away, with several still to follow.

Champion squad Eggleston Motorsport has already confirmed three of its 2023 quartet will return, namely Kai Allen, Cooper Murray and Jordyn Sinni. The Holden squad is tipped to enter as many as five Super2 cars this year.

Walkinshaw Andretti United will stick with two cars, for incumbent Zach Bates and recruit Campbell Logan (who takes over from main game-bound Ryan Wood).

Tickford has not made any formal Super2 announcements besides sharing Elly Morrow’s decision to retire; the Ford squad though is expected to field Brad Vaughan, Lochie Dalton and Rylan Gray.

AIM Motorsport is expanding to run two cars in the second tier, one of which will be for Zane Morse.

Matt Chahda and his family squad will go around, in addition to chasing another Bathurst 1000 wildcard, while Max Vidau (Anderson Motorsport) and Cameron McLeod (PremiAir Racing/Ryan McLeod Racing Cars) are stepping up.

That’s 12.

Beyond that, Jay Hanson and Jobe Stewart have both pointed to contesting Super2 with Image/Erebus, with the latter potentially filling the seat vacated by Jack Perkins (signed to co-drive with the Blanchard Racing Team).

Whether BRT has another dip at Super2 remains to be seen, in the wake of Aaron Love’s graduation.

BJR also has at least one seat up for grabs following Dalton’s defection.

Aaron Seton has joined Morrow in retirement; and question marks hover over the Super2 futures of Zak Best, Cameron Crick, Nash Morris and Aaron Cameron among others – not to mention whether Jett Johnson and Mason Kelly will be elevated from Super3.
