MARK Skaife joins us for the second time for this week’s episode of the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Timken.

After focusing on his years as a factory Holden racer in his first visit to our podcast in 2019, this time around he talks about some rarely-discussed parts of his decorated career off the back of the release of his new book Mark Skaife: The Complete Illustrated Autobiography, available now for purchase in the V8 Sleuth Bookshop.

It’s a diverse chat: from the time he had a bit of explaining to do after shunting a company-owned Nissan road car, through to his days playing rugby league while growing up on the Central Coast of New South Wales, through to driving a Jordan F1 car in a car park, and how his brief stint as a factory Mazda driver came about.

He also talks about how he thought his offer of a Le Mans 24 Hours drive was just a prank by John Cleland, his test of a Nissan Group C sports car, the time he was supposed to race Michael Schumacher back when they were karting juniors, and whether or not he has officially retired from racing.
